EARLY INTERVENTION MONTESSORI (EIM)

Early Childhood Preschool Program

Children who are ready for preschool but experience learning difficulties (especially in larger groups / mainstream settings) or have developmental delays and require adaptive strategies to support their learning journey.

SUITABLE FOR:

The Early Intervention Montessori (EIM) preschool program is thoughtfully designed to support children with learning challenges by combining the principles of Montessori education with individualized accommodations.

Each child will have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), customized to address their specific learning needs and goals. The IEP will be regularly reviewed and evaluated at the end of each school term to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.

The EIM program provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can build

foundational skills, gain confidence, and prepare for their next steps in education.

EIM PLACEMENT & ASSESSMENT

All children are required to undergo an EIM assessment prior to enrolment. This allows our team to understand the child’s current developmental profile and determine whether the EIM classroom environment is the most suitable learning setting.

The EIM program is designed for children who are able to participate in a small group learning environment with emerging group readiness skills, such as attending to tasks, responding to teacher guidance, and managing basic behavioural expectations.

For children who are not yet ready to fully benefit from a small group classroom setting, we may recommend beginning with the Early Intervention Program (EIP) to build foundational skills such as behavioural regulation, attention to tasks, and responsiveness to teacher guidance before transitioning into the EIM classroom.
